FAQ

What is an Escape Room?

An escape room is a physical adventure game. Players enter a themed room and must use elements of the room to solve puzzles and riddles to complete a mission or “escape” the room before time runs out. Teamwork and a diverse skill set are critical to successfully completing the mission!

How many people are in a room?

The number of people for each game varies depending on the game itself. Most of our games are designed for 4-8 people.  Less than four, and the game may be too hard to complete. More than eight, and the space becomes easily crowded.

Do I need to bring a full team?

No. Tickets are sold individually — and you can buy as many or few as you would like. The minimum recommended group size is 4 people.
Book the tickets you need and remainder are available for others to purchase and play with you.

What if I want the room for just my group?

A couple options are available. Put together a team of 8 and you’ll have a full game. Less than 8 players? Select the private event. You’ll be charged and additional $40 for your private event. Either way, the game will be all yours!

What do I need to bring?

Everything you need to solve the puzzles is in the rooms. In some cases, using outside tools (phones, pocket knives, etc.) may not get you the answers you’re looking for. Just bring your sense of adventure!

Are we locked in the rooms?

At Avalanche Escape Rooms, the comfort and safety of our customers is a priority. We do not lock the doors to the games — and you are free to come and go as needed. However, please be courteous to your teammates so they may enjoy the full experience of their adventure.

Can children take part?

Children are welcome at Avalanche Escape Rooms. Our Escape Rooms are challenging, though, and likely to be beyond the skill level of young children. A few requirements need to be met:

  • Children 14-17 can participate alone.

  • Children 12-13 need to have at least 1 paying adult per game and we recommend booking the entire room.

  • Kids 8 and up tend to do well in family groups.

  • Children under 8 should not attend.

What if I need to change my reservations?

When you make reservations, you will receive an e-mail from us. In it you will find a link which will allow you to make any changes up to 24 hours in advance of your scheduled game. Tickets are non-refundable. You can also give us a call and we can change your booking over the phone.

What if we are late?

Adventure waits for no man! We ask that all players arrive 10 minutes before the start time of your scheduled game for a game briefing. Please do not be late; this is critical for the overall team experience. Once a game has started, latecomers will not be permitted to join afterward. Please be aware that there are no refunds or rescheduling in this situation. Please account for weather conditions and traffic when making your travel arrangements.

How long does each Game last?

You should allot about an hour and a half for your game. Plan to show up 10 minutes early to get briefed. You are allotted 60 minutes to complete your game and escape the room. After the game, we are happy to take pictures and complete a debrief of how you performed.

How is parking?

There is ample free parking in our lot and along the south side of the building. Please avoid the back alley as this is a right-of-way for our neighbors and we don’t want to block it.

Will we be alone in the room?

We utilize a character in the game to enhance your experience and keep things moving along. This live person is there to provide hints, should you become stumped, as well as guidance on what may or may not be an appropriate action. Don’t worry — it’s still up to you to solve the puzzles and escape the room.

Note:

Avalanche Escape Rooms takes the safety of its staff and clients seriously.  We reserve the right to refuse admittance to those appearing to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs with no refund or rescheduling. We also reserve the right to stop an adventure at any time should the players become destructive or abusive.  You will be asked to leave the premises immediately and will be held responsible for any damages or losses incurred by Avalanche Escape Rooms.
